Bob Motamedi

Bob Motamedi began his DJ career in 2003, after a chance encounter with Armin van Buuren in the Voodoo Lounge at Las Vegas. In the early hours of that morning after van Buuren’s set, he expressed his desire to make music and do what the seasoned DJ was doing. The advice that followed would propel Motamedi into a journey as a DJ that would see him just a few years later performing on the same stage as the man who advised him how to do it.

In the past five years, Motamedi has established himself as a talented DJ in the genres of Trance, Electro, and Psychedelic music. He has seen accomplishments that many in the music industry have not achieved in such a short amount of time. His hard work and skill earned him a two-year residency at Club Heaven in Los Angeles from 2004-2006. For the past 4 years, he’s continued to impress the crowds at his current residency with Global Vibe Entertainment at Spundae. His popular radio show, “The Sin City Show,” plays on ETN.fm every second Tuesday of the month.

Motamedi loves spinning vocal trance, and is known for his upbeat and energetic style. He is also known for uncovering beautiful melodies in all the genres of music he plays. What makes him so impressive is that even in the harder sounds of psychedelic music, he still reveals beautiful melodies.

His versatility as a DJ traces back to his varied taste in music, and his musical background. Prior to falling in love with electronic music, he played drums in a rock band, and always concentrated his musical ear on finding and unearthing melodies in all that he played.

He has performed with or shared the stage with artists such as Cosmic Gate, Solarstone, Darude, Armin van Buuren, Gabriel and Dresden, John 00 Fleming, and Markus Schulz. A mere three years after meeting Armin van Buuren, Motamedi performed at his White Party in 2006. Other notable events include spinning at Spundae with John 00 Fleming in 2006, and then again at Spundae’s New Years Eve event in 2007.

His success earned him the opportunity to open and close for Astrix at Dance For Freedom in 2007, where he impressed the crowd twice that night.

Bob Motamedi loves how music can change a listener’s mood. By extracting melodies from a sweet-sounding trance track as well as a hard-hitting psychedelic track, he manipulates the crowd’s mood and reactions in the most captivating ways.
